Rayna's Story

On September 16, 2014, my boyfriend and I were heading to my house when we saw her almost get hit by cars multiple times, then jump off the road into the ditch. Of course, we can't ever say no, so we turned around and stopped to pick her up. She saw him get out the truck and she cowered down and moved back in fear, but when she saw me, she came straight to me. Terrified of men, she was definitely a woman's dog. For two weeks, I made 'found dog' fliers for the vets, local shelters, the stores near where we found her, and went to every home in a 10-mile radius in every direction of where we found her, and nobody knew who she was.

After about a week with lots of love, she had no fears, and it only took her a couple of days to catch on to the house training before she was 100% house trained, as well as leash and kennel trained and also to 'sit' on command, which I'm pretty sure she already knew. After spending weeks looking for her owners, I finally just gave up and fell in love with her. I had planned on vetting her, having her spayed, and finding her a perfect home, but that didn't work out. Sadly, yesterday, a bad storm came without any of us knowing and she was outside and I guess the thunder scared her and she ran into the highway and got hit and passed. This baby girl was absolutely perfect in every single way, and I'm so grateful that I was the one that had the opportunity to spend her last few weeks with her and show her what love is.
