Nora Jean's Story
Teresa and I had two dogs that we had sine they were 8 weeks old Zoey was 15 when she pasted away and I hurt for the loss. Our other dog Rudy was 16 at the time and I had told Teresa that I did not want another dog the pain was just too much. 6 months later we moved to Ga and had settled in and Teresa brought up the subject of another dog. I again expressed that I did not want another dog that I was dreading the day that Rudy passed. While out exploring one weekend we stopped at a sale to benefit a second chance rescue shelter for dogs that were saved from the county shelter. Teresa must have petted ever dog there and this little fiesty mix breed caught her attention. Everytime we started to leave NORA start talking to us. The lady at the shelter said Nora had puppies and they had all been adopted but nobody seemed to want Nora and that she had been there the longest of any of the dogs. We agreed to take her for a few days and see how it worked. Nora turned out to be a very loving, silly, clown that within days fit right in. Six months later at 17 Rudy passed away, it hurt as bad as I thought it would but Nora helped ease the pain with her unconditional love. Teresa swears that rescue dogs are better because they are grateful all I know is I am glad Nora waited for us to get there.
